As a proven high-capacity leader of multiple large and influential ministry organizations, Ronnie Floyd is known for being a leader of leaders. He is the founder of the Northwest Arkansas Business Persons' Summit, which has had an attendance of over one hundred thirty thousand business leaders since its inception in the fall of 2001. He has a passionate commitment to investing in, inspiring, and influencing leaders.
For over thirty-two years, he served as the senior pastor of Cross Church in Northwest Arkansas. During his tenure, the church exploded in growth and became a large multi-campus church with over twenty thousand members. With three major campuses in the region, the church is still impacting major corporations that have their global headquarters in the region: Walmart, JB Hunt, Tyson Foods, and the University of Arkansas.
Dr. Floyd's personal and communication skills help create unity around a common purpose and strategic vision that influences and invests in leaders who will change the world. His commitment to developing leaders for over three decades resulted in establishing a successful succession plan, which was implemented in 2019. Today, the church is flourishing and advancing into the future with a strategic vision and dynamic hope through the leadership of Dr. Floyd's son, Nick, who is now the senior pastor of Cross Church.
As a speaker, author, and former president of the National Day of Prayer Task Force, Dr. Floyd has led across denominations and ministries. He was elected in 2014 to 2016 to serve as the President of the Southern Baptist Convention. Then, in the spring of 2019 through 2021, Floyd served as the President and CEO of the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee. Today, he speaks, writes, consults for organizations, and coaches leaders.
He received his bachelor's degree from Howard Payne University and his master's and doctoral degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has also received The Distinguished Alumni Award from each of these educational institutions.
Ronnie and his wife, Jeana, have two sons, Josh and Nick. Josh and his wife Kate have three sons: Peyton, Parker, and Jack. Nick and his wife Meredith have four children: Reese, Beckham, Norah, and Maya.
