Everyone else was still fully occupied with their supernatural servers just as much as with what they were serving. So it might be the perfect time for Hannah to let Penelope keep asking the questions rather than deflecting the attention.


Sometimes the best leads came from the inside.


Especially once they had an idea what the stakes really were.


Sure enough, Penelope pursed her lips and leaned a little closer. Hannah caught a faint, intoxicating scent of the forest and growing things.


"Want to tell me what you're really doing here? Or should I start guessing?"


Rather than feeling caught out or nervous, Hannah only got another of those delicious jolts of excitement.


"You mean besides wanting to discover all the exciting news about Sweeps Week?" She blinked in an exaggerated show of innocence before deciding to throw in the towel. She'd always had an uncanny sense of who she could safely talk to during any investigation, no matter how risky. 


Besides, cooperation sounded like a lot more fun.
