Has democracy become a democracy of conflicts when it is so violent and is so prepared to start preemptive wars?

Is democratic politics consumed by confrontation and conflicts?

Is it not time for the Western ideology of narrow national interest be discarded and replaced with an ideology of common humanity?

If this can be achieved, all the terrible conflicts and wars in the world will be averted, and humankind can live harmoniously as one, just as how the John Lennon 1971 song Imagine imagined.
