Synopsis: Elmer left his home in Massachusetts and moved to rural Maine after the death of his daughter, and later his wife. He lives a secluded life in a shack in the woods. The local families in the small town of Jessup Maine are all he ever encounters. The good and the bad of the small town living shows itself to Elmer as the characters reveal their true nature. Elmer is determined to help those he deems as the good people he has come to know. He learns to protect them in ways you can't imagine.
Autobiography: Dennis Corcoran grew up spending summers with his family at a lakeside camp off the coast of Maine (Mainers refer to a cottage or cabin on a lake as "camp"). His fascination with the natural beauty and uniqueness of the rocky coast, the wandering mountains and pristine lakes create a backdrop for his story "In the Spirit of Elmer's Woods".
