Once upon a time bees had no wings so they walked from flower to flower collecting their honey. It was hard work getting enough honey as the best flowers were out of reach and the bees had to work long hours to get enough to keep the hive going. Then one day a miracle happened. A baby bee was born with wings. The bees were ecstatic. They saw that there was great potential for the hive to thrive. They immediately made the winged bee their queen.
Very soon there were new generations of bees with wings and the flightless bees ceased to exist. The new queen was OK at first but soon she became bossy and greedy. She enslaved the bee population and made them work ever longer hours. She stored up the honey for her own use and gave very little to the hive so the new baby bees were perpetually hungry.
The queen formed an army and declared war on the other insects in the garden. Without their work, the garden began to die. The queen didn't care. She was doing so well that she forgot that she was supposed the serve the hive to make sure that all the bees and the other insects were also doing well.
Inevitably the bees decided to get rid of the nasty queen so they threw her out of the hive. They soon hatched a new queen, one that was kinder, more generous and more concerned that all her bee subjects were happy and prosperous. Then the new queen invited all the insects which had been booted out of the garden to come back. They all worked hard together and very soon the garden was restored to its former beauty.
