This book is all about metaphoric and metonymic Expressions of body part terms hand and head in Hausa. Conceptual metaphor concerns mapping between source domains through reference to another entity or element in the target domain by means of Conceptualization. Relatedly, metonymy involves single domain mapping of an entity onto another entity, the vehicle gives access to another entity that is the target, in a single domain. Therefore, this book explorers the cognitive mechanisms which function in the creation of metaphorical and metonymical expressions of body part terms in the Hausa language.
