"Katie was raised in Ohio and lived in several other areas of the U.S. before making Maui her home in 2002. She has a strong connection with children and nature, and has worked in an educational setting for most of her career.

She enjoys the ocean, sunshine, warm climate, lush

kaleidoscope of colors, and the beauty of nature that

Maui has to offer. When she's not writing, you can find

her whale watching, snorkeling, gardening, painting with

watercolors, traveling, and playing Mahjongg. Katie has a

bachelor's degree in accounting and a master's degree in

counseling, in which she is currently completing her Ph.D.

Katie has one son and several grandchildren, and loves to

read to them."
