The publications of the Hakluyt Society (founded in 1846) made available edited (and sometimes translated) early accounts of exploration. This translation, published in 1851, is the first part of Sigismund von Herberstein's account of his visits to Russia in 1517 and 1526, which had originally appeared in Latin in 1549.
