Born in Swindon, England, Jo Anne Bowers was bitten by the writing bug at a very early age. Almost as far back as she can remember, she has wanted to write children's books. Ms. Bowers wants her books to encourage children to be responsible, believe in themselves, and do the right thing. Ms. Bowers holds a bachelor's and master's degree in education. For the past thirty years, she has worked with children with special needs. She believes that all children can succeed, given the right opportunity. Today, Ms. Bowers is a true Floridian. She can often be found packing her suitcase for a short trip to the warm waters in Florida to visit her old friends, the manatees.
